Convert any word count into a page estimate based on font, size and line spacing. Or work backwards: enter a page count and find out roughly how many words you need.

| 250 words | ≈ 1 page |
| 500 words | ≈ 1.8 pages |
| 750 words | ≈ 2.7 pages |
| 1,000 words | ≈ 3.7 pages |
| 1,500 words | ≈ 5.5 pages |
| 2,000 words | ≈ 7.3 pages |
| 2,500 words | ≈ 9.1 pages |
| 3,000 words | ≈ 11 pages |
| 5,000 words | ≈ 18.3 pages |
| 10,000 words | ≈ 36.5 pages |
| 50,000 words | ≈ 183 pages |
The number of words on a page depends on several factors: the font, its size, line spacing, margins, paragraph length, and whether the page contains images, headings or lists. That's why the common "250 words per page" (double-spaced) or "500 words per page" (single-spaced) rule is only a rough average.
This calculator takes those factors into account to give you a much more accurate estimate.
Our model is based on average character widths per font at 100% zoom with 1-inch margins. It gives a good estimate for text-heavy documents, but if your page includes images, tables, formulas or unusual formatting, actual page counts can differ substantially. Treat the output as a planning estimate, not a precise measurement.
For a truly exact count, open your document in Word or Google Docs and check the page number at the bottom.
